About the Online Guitar Lessons
It's not always easy to find quality lessons on the web. Learning the guitar is an experience that requires much practice and time. We never finish for learning and the internet is a constant source of inspiration for all guitarists in the world. I learned a lot on the web and I continue to improve my playing every time I decide to explore new websites.
The ways to play the guitar are endless... The guitar is the most popular instrument and the technique is constantly renewed. Many people ask me how to position their fingers, if they should play with or without a pick, if nylon strings are better than steel strings... I have no answer, everyone makes his own way. Every time I watch a guitarist, I discover something new. So try, test and refine your style, that's how you will progress. One more thing, to play well the most important thing is to spend as much time playing as possible and practice, practice, practice... Always play slowly... That's what all the guitarists I've met have told me.
Note after note with the metronome. Having discipline in the work is really hard and we must motivate ourselves each day. Playing for fun is a good thing, but developing one's music is another. One day, a friend, a very good musician, explained to me that during a jazz event, he spoke with Bireli Lagrene. He asked Lagrene how to improve his playing. His answer was clear : "play as much as you can, when I was in New York, I practiced 12 hours a day !" Even if Bireli Lagrene is a virtuoso of jazz guitar, he also had to work hard to match and surpass the masters.
Whatever anyone says, practice remains a vital necessity for the musician throughout his career. Over time, we develop a natural playing and we don't remember how difficult it was initially. A very simple and fun example : take your guitar in the other hand and try to make some chords... You will see how hard it is to begin and how progress is gradual. So take your guitar and have fun !
